Just before the pandemic hit, Thailand finally jumped on the "No Plastic Bags" bandwagon, catching up with the global push for environmental consciousness. AP, one of Thailand's top real estate developers, made a splash at the 2020 Bangkok Design Festival with their bold "AP SUPERMARKET" campaign. The highlight? Giving away ultra-durable paper bags perfect for your everyday grocery runs. But that's not all—attendees could jazz up their bags with free stickers and rubber stamps
Supermachine Studio took this concept to the next level with their innovative pavilion. Imagine a half-ring structure, draped in a thousand paper bags, creating a kinetic backdrop that sways gently with the breeze. This dynamic front greets visitors, while the back is cleverly torn open, inviting them inside. Every half-hour, a special window in the paper wall dispenses the coveted AP REUSABLE BAGS. Inside, a sleek, curved counter made entirely of stacked AP paper boxes adds to the pavilion's eco-chic vibe.
“Design isn't just about aesthetics—it's a powerful message.”
