As cryptocurrencies surged, the gaming world exploded, dragging along manga and character design into new dimensions. These million-dollar subcultures have seamlessly woven into Thai society, now a vibrant tapestry in the mainstream. Wander through Siamsquare or jog in a public park, and you’ll encounter Thai kids in elaborate homemade costumes and vivid wigs, channeling characters from online games, manga, and anime. Bravo!
Cryptomind is surfing this exhilarating wave. Their office is a daily celebration of these dynamic elements. When the time came to ditch their generic office tower, they opted for a colossal mixed-use block with a daring traditional Chinese theme. Odd? Perhaps. But this spot has become a haven for young photographers, both in and out of costume, buzzing with a fantasy vibe that’s hard to ignore.
They chose the most striking building in the compound. Out of the stacked Chinese house styles, theirs is a palace/temple hybrid, crowned with an enormous tiled roof. Mezzanine floors were added to make the most of the lofty space. On level 1, old windows gave way to glass panes, turning the interior into a showcase for public events. Behind a newly crafted pixel glass moon gate lie the meeting and play areas. Various game zones are scattered around the central blue space, featuring movable steps and event screens.
The mission: to harness the vast attic space while balancing playful creativity and staff privacy. Modern digital work thrives on an open-plan, hot-seat configuration, where anyone can work anywhere. A distinct “working table” zone anchors the office, with supporting functions like LIVE studios and a snack bar nestled in and above wooden boxes, ensuring a smooth workflow. Formal meeting rooms occupy the newly constructed top floor. A new staircase, inspired by low-pixel 80s arcade games, links all three levels in a playful yet functional manner.
